Many young people across the country will have received their exam results this morning. Commenting today, Steven Stewart, Chair of the Perth and Kinross Developing Young Workforce Regional Board, said: “We hope that young people across our region were happy with their results today. But whether that news was good or not quite what was hoped for, exams are just one part of what our young people need to achieve their potential, get into work and have successful and rewarding careers.
“What’s just as important are the life skills and early experience of work that make a massive difference to young people’s chances of getting into employment. It’s also crucial for the future growth of the businesses we have here in Perth and Kinross.
“Our message today is that whatever your chosen career, there’s many equally positive paths to get there after leaving school. That can be a job straight from school, being self-employed, starting an apprenticeship or training, setting up your own business or deciding to pursue more academic studies. As parents, we all want the best for our children and there’s lots of different ways to make that happen.”
