An 18-year-old has been arrested following a tragic hit-and-run that left a 70-year-old woman dead in Hogmanay

Police Scotland was on the hunt for the driver of the vehicle that didn’t stop after the crash. They were really keen to find out who was behind the wheel.
On Saturday, they announced that they had arrested an 18-year-old man. He was later released while the investigation continues.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends, emphasizing that the police would keep supporting them as they looked into the case.
They’re asking anyone who saw the crash or noticed a white car in the area, especially if it had any damage, to come forward. If you have dashcam footage that might help, they want to hear from you too.
