An 18-year-old man has been arrested following a tragic hit-and-run that killed a woman in Paisley on New Year’s Eve
Paisley: A tragic incident unfolded on New Year’s Eve when a woman lost her life in a hit-and-run. The victim, Elizabeth Kennedy, was 70 years old.
She was hit by a car on Barrhead Road around 7 PM. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene despite the quick response from police and paramedics.
Authorities were on the lookout for the driver who fled the scene. Just a few days later, they arrested an 18-year-old man, but he was released while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl expressed condolences to Elizabeth’s family and friends. The police are still supporting them as they gather more information.
They’re asking anyone who saw the crash or a white car in the area that night, especially if it had damage, to come forward.
