A group of 23 guests and staff are snowed in at the Tan Hill Inn, enjoying a cozy stay amid heavy snowfall in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire: So, a bunch of folks got stuck at the Tan Hill Inn because of some serious snow. They’ve been holed up there since January 5, just hanging out and making the best of it.
There are 23 guests, including a little four-year-old, plus six staff members. This pub is pretty high up, sitting at 1,732 feet above sea level, so you can imagine the snowdrifts!
Some guests even tried to leave but ended up turning back after a long trek of just three miles. Co-manager Nicole said a few brave souls with 4x4s made it out, but most decided to stay put.
It sounds like they’re having a blast, though! Nicole mentioned that everyone was mingling and enjoying themselves, forgetting about the outside world for a bit. Drinks were flowing, and they were all in good spirits.
There are even pictures of guests playing board games and enjoying the snowy scenery. Owner Andrew Hields is proud of the inn’s hospitality and is making sure everyone is well taken care of.
As of January 6, they’re still there, and the latest update said they were enjoying a full English breakfast. They even posted on Facebook, sharing their cozy vibes and wondering how long they’ll be stuck at Britain’s highest pub.
They’re taking it easy, with no rush to leave until the weather clears up. The inn is closed to the public for now, but they’re keeping everyone updated. Stay safe out there!
