A woman faces trial for murder after a man died from injuries sustained during a domestic incident on New Year’s Eve
Everton: So, here’s the scoop. Gillian Shaw, 61, is in some serious trouble. She’s been charged with murdering Steven Cox, who was 63. This all went down on New Year’s Eve.
Police got called to a domestic incident on Rothwell Street around 4 PM on December 31. When they arrived, they found Steven with some pretty serious injuries. Sadly, he passed away in the hospital early on New Year’s Day.
Gillian, who’s reportedly Steven’s long-term partner, showed up in court via video link. She was wearing a prison jumper and glasses, looking pretty emotional. She only confirmed her name and birth date during the hearing.
They didn’t ask her to enter a plea just yet, but a trial is set for June 23. She’s been remanded in custody until a plea hearing on March 28. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
