A man, 62, has been extradited to Northern Ireland to face multiple historical rape charges from the 1990s
The police say he’s looking at three counts of rape, seven counts of indecent assault against a woman, and a couple of other charges, including gross indecency towards a child. That’s a lot to unpack.
He was first arrested in the Netherlands on October 7 and made his way back to Northern Ireland just this past Thursday. He’s set to appear in Laganside Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Sergeant Davey from the International Policing Unit mentioned that this extradition shows how well they work with international partners. They teamed up with the National Crime Agency and Dutch authorities to track him down.
He also made it clear that they’re not letting anyone off the hook. If you think you can run away from your past actions, think again. They’re on the hunt for anyone trying to dodge justice for victims.
