Redcar: Starting January 13, the A174 will be closed every night for some important work. This closure will last from 8 PM to 6 AM, so if you’re driving through, be ready for a detour.
The work includes refreshing the road markings and replacing those little cat’s eyes that help with visibility. It’s all about keeping the road safe for everyone.
A spokesperson from the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council mentioned that westbound traffic will be affected from Greystones Roundabout. They’re putting up clear signs to guide drivers on the detour.
If you usually head west from Lazenby Bypass or down Greystones Road, you’ll need to follow the diversion. But don’t worry, eastbound traffic won’t be impacted at all.
They’ve planned these closures for overnight when there’s less traffic, so it should minimize disruption. Just keep an eye out for those signs if you’re in the area!
