A man from St Leonards and St Ives has been sentenced to over five years for possessing illegal firearms
St Leonards: A guy named Adam Harris just got hit with a five-year sentence for stashing illegal guns. He had quite the collection, including a Smith & Wesson revolver and a couple of Glock pistols.
He was caught in Cumbria back in January 2021 after police got a tip-off. The 54-year-old faced the music at Bournemouth Crown Court recently.
Harris pleaded guilty to having firearms without a license. The police did a thorough search of his storage containers in Bournemouth and found a bunch of weapons, including rifles and even a crossbow.
They also discovered a stun gun and lots of ammo. After a forensic check, they charged him, and now all those dangerous weapons are set to be destroyed.
DC Steven Davis from BCP CID said they take firearm incidents very seriously. He praised the teamwork with Cumbria Police that led to Harris’s arrest and the seizure of those weapons.
Davis urged anyone who knows about illegal weapons to report it so they can keep the community safe. It’s all about making sure everyone feels secure.
