Wavertree: It’s such a sad story. John Furness, a 71-year-old grandad, was just heading out to buy a lottery ticket when tragedy struck. He was hit by a car, a Toyota Prius, at a busy junction.
His family shared how he left home, which was just a couple of minutes away, to grab that ticket. Sadly, he passed away a week later after being taken off a ventilator.
They described him as adventurous and full of life, always making great memories with his grandkids in Wales. His family is heartbroken, saying they can’t believe they won’t see him again.
They expressed their gratitude for the support they’ve received during this tough time. The police are still investigating the accident and are asking anyone who might have seen anything to come forward.
