Birtley: Appletree Grange Care Home, part of Barchester Healthcare, is starting a monthly café for folks to come together and share their experiences.

This initiative is perfect for anyone caring for someone with dementia or those who think a loved one might have it.

At the café, you can get helpful info on coping strategies, how to get a diagnosis, and what support is out there. Plus, you’ll hear advice from others in similar situations.

It’s a nice chance to relax with a cup of tea or coffee and maybe a slice of cake.

The café will be open on the last Friday of each month at 10am.

Ben Patterson, the general manager, mentioned, “We want to help and support relatives, friends, and members of our local community who have loved ones living with dementia.”

He added, “The café will be a great way to relax, make friends, and learn about dementia from our specially trained staff.”

Everyone is welcome to drop by for a coffee and chat with others who understand what they’re going through.
