Brent: An 18-year-old guy was taken into custody after a woman was shot dead in a drive-by outside a church. It all went down on Gifford Road around 9:15 PM on December 14.

The victim, 44-year-old Michelle Sadio, was just standing there with mourners after a wake when the shots rang out. So tragic! Two other men in their 30s were hurt too. One is still in the hospital but stable, while the other has been treated and sent home.

Witnesses say the shots came from a black Kia Niro with some pretty unique alloys. After the shooting, the car was ditched on Barnhill Road and set on fire. Crazy, right?

The police arrested the 18-year-old on Wednesday, and he’s still in custody. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke is leading the investigation and is urging anyone with info to step forward.

He called it a senseless act of violence that took an innocent life. Michelle’s family is heartbroken, and the police are determined to bring those responsible to justice.
