A man was arrested for suspected arson after a lorry caught fire near The Orchards shopping centre in Dartford, causing a dramatic scene.
Dartford: So, there was this wild scene over the weekend. A lorry just exploded into flames right behind The Orchards shopping centre. It all went down around 8:30 PM on Saturday.
Fire crews and police rushed to the spot on Suffolk Road. A video captured the whole thing, showing the lorry engulfed in flames. You could hear a witness saying the fire was “getting worse” as the flames spread.
Luckily, no one got hurt, but the cause of the fire is being looked at as suspicious. The police have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the incident. He’s been bailed but is still under investigation.
If anyone has info that could help, they should reach out to the police. The suspect, who doesn’t have a fixed address, is also facing other charges and was set to appear in court soon. What a crazy night for Dartford!
