The annual tractor run in Astwood Bank brought joy and support for charity, delighting attendees with a festive atmosphere and community spirit
Astwood Bank: The New Year’s Day Tractor Run was a hit this year! It kicked off from S E Davis & Son Ltd and made its way through the charming streets and villages, ending at Broad Acres Fishery in Bromsgrove.
Folks turned out in droves to cheer on the tractors as they rolled through Astwood Bank, Hunt End, Enfield Road, Love Lyne, Callow Hill, Webheath, Bentley, and Hanbury. It was such a lively scene!
Organized by the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor and Engine Club, this event has become a beloved tradition every New Year’s Day. It’s a great way to start the year with some fun and community spirit.
Not only is it entertaining, but it also supports a good cause. The event raises funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, with collections happening on the day and a Just Giving page set up for donations.
After the event, the club took to social media to thank everyone for their support, especially given the not-so-great weather. They mentioned that over 50 tractors cruised through the back roads, greeted by cheers and donations from onlookers.
A mix of vehicles joined in, from classic tractors to modern ones, and even some lorries and cars. Plus, there were refreshments like tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep everyone warm and happy.
So far, the Just Giving page has raised nearly £200, with the final total still to be confirmed. Residents have been sharing their thoughts online, with many praising the organizers and calling the event “wonderful.”
One local said, “It was a great turnout again this year. I watched it all from my bedroom window.” Another chimed in, “What a sight. You guys are wonderful.”
