In a shocking turn, Axel Rudakubana pleads guilty to murdering three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed class, leaving the community in disbelief.
Southport: It’s hard to believe what happened at that holiday club. Axel Rudakubana, just 18, has confessed to killing three little girls during a Taylor Swift-themed event. It’s just heartbreaking.
He changed his plea right at the start of his trial, which was a big surprise. Last summer, on July 29, he attacked the kids, and it shook the whole country. Two of the girls, Bebe and Elsie, were only six and seven, and a nine-year-old named Alice died later in the hospital.
Can you imagine? They were just there to have fun, making bracelets and dancing. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. A few others were hurt too, and they had to rush them to the hospital.
After the attack, things got really tense. There were riots fueled by misinformation about who the attacker was. It’s just so sad that this happened in a place meant for joy.
Rudakubana was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents and was living in Lancashire when this all went down. The court even lifted restrictions on naming him because they wanted to clear up the confusion surrounding his identity.
King Charles even visited Southport to pay respects, where people left flowers for the victims. It’s a tough time for everyone, and the community is still reeling from this tragedy.
