Andrew Hay, a repeat offender, remains in custody after pleading guilty to sending sexual messages to schoolgirls in Ayr
Ayr: So, there’s this guy named Andrew Hay, right? He’s a repeat offender and just got himself in a whole lot of trouble again. He’s been locked up after admitting to some pretty serious charges involving schoolgirls.
This 22-year-old appeared in court looking pretty rough in handcuffs. He confessed to making a child look at sexual images and sending indecent messages. Not cool at all.
Between November 2023 and February 2024, he was sending sexual messages to one girl while he was undressed. It’s just disturbing to think about. He also sent a photo of his privates to another teenager.
The court heard he was relentless, making 60 calls to one girl and a whopping 399 to another. He even called one of them his “girlfriend.” Seriously, what was he thinking?
One parent got worried and went to the school after finding out her daughter was chatting with him online. Turns out, she did a little digging and found out he had a history of similar offenses.
When the police got involved, they found out he had been messaging multiple girls. He even sent one a Snapchat saying, “I love you.” It’s just so creepy.
He tried to convince another girl he was 15, but when they Facetimed, she realized he was lying. He sent her some pretty inappropriate stuff, including a collage of her friend’s pictures.
When she called him out on it, he just brushed it off and kept calling her his girlfriend. He even sent another girl a message about wanting to meet up for sex. Yikes!
Eventually, he got arrested and didn’t say much during his police interview. His lawyer mentioned that he turned 22 while in custody and has a record that includes a community payback order.
The sheriff decided to keep him in custody while they prepare background reports. They’re also looking at a five-year sexual harm prevention order. He’s set to return to court later next year.
