Glow Sports Zone aims to enhance Basildon’s nightlife with fun activities for all ages
Basildon: Glow Sports Zone opened its doors in December, thanks to YouTube star Charlie Davis. He’s on a mission to revamp the town center’s nightlife, which he thinks is a bit overlooked.
This spot used to be the Neon Nines crazy golf course, but now it’s got a fresh vibe after being taken over by Charlie’s company, Jet House. They’ve put in around £300,000 to make it pop.
The venue is super colorful, featuring nine mini-golf holes, crazy pool, a darts room, and a bar. It’s all about fun and games here!
Charlie, who has nearly a million YouTube subscribers, believes this new hangout can help Basildon become a go-to nightlife destination, especially with places like Boom Battle Bar gaining popularity.
He mentioned that Basildon Council is keen on boosting the night-time economy, and they’re allowed to stay open until 11 PM. Charlie wants to be a big part of that.
The venue is like a glow-in-the-dark playground, and the council sees this as a key part of their plans to regenerate the town. Labour leader Gavin Callaghan has also expressed his desire for Basildon to be a thriving night spot.
Charlie thinks Glow Sports Zone can attract all sorts of visitors, from families to couples and groups of friends. He’s aiming to create a national entertainment brand out of it.
While they’re excited about having an alcohol license, Charlie emphasizes that they want to be a fun place for everyone, not just adults. It’s all about universal appeal!
Charlie runs Jet House, which he claims is the largest creator house company in the UK, with locations in Spain and Dubai, and plans for one in Saudi Arabia. These creator houses are where influencers live and collaborate to make content.
