A body has been found in the search for two missing charity workers from Crystal Palace FC
Italy: The search for Aziz Ziriat and Sam Harris has been going on for nearly a week. These two British hikers went missing on January 1 and didn’t make their flight home on January 6.
They were last seen near a mountain hut called Casina Dosson, close to Tione Di Trento, near Lake Garda. It’s a beautiful area, but it can be dangerous.
Sadly, a spokesperson from Italy’s National Alpine Cliff and Cave Rescue Corps announced that a body was found in the Passo di Conca area, buried under the snow.
Aziz is 36 and stands at 6’3″, while Sam is 35 and 5’11”. Friends and family are understandably worried, especially since they hadn’t checked in for their flight.
The rescue teams had been tracking a phone belonging to one of the hikers, which led them to continue searching the area. An investigation is now underway to figure out what happened.
The Palace for Life Foundation, which has been a key part of the south London community for over 30 years, shared photos of the two men on social media, hoping to raise awareness.
Joe Stone, a friend of Aziz, mentioned that both men were experienced hikers who enjoyed exploring off the beaten path. However, alarm bells started ringing when they didn’t check in.
Before the body was found, friends and family were anxiously waiting for updates, knowing that the next few hours were crucial.
