A Chinese tourist’s body was discovered in Sabah, Malaysia, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance
According to the local police chief, Superintendent Mohd Sabri Zainol, a search operation was launched by the Semporna Marine Police, with help from divers from nearby resorts. They found Zhang’s body at a depth of 17 meters after receiving a report about a missing tourist.
Zhang was discovered fully dressed, wearing a light T-shirt and shorts, along with shoes and a grey backpack. Inside the backpack were his mobile phone and some passport-sized photos. It’s a heartbreaking scene.
Authorities are treating this as a sudden death and have started an investigation. They’re asking anyone who might have information or knows someone missing to reach out. If no family comes forward, a post-mortem will be done within 48 hours.
For anyone with tips, they can contact Assistant Superintendent Mohd Ali Amat at 013-212 0852 or the Semporna police station at 089-782 020. It’s a tough time for everyone involved.
