A daring burglary in north London saw a thief escape with £10m in jewellery and luxury items while homeowners were away
London: A shocking burglary took place in north London, where a thief made off with around £10.4 million in jewellery. Can you believe it?
The burglar snuck in through a second-floor window while the homeowners were out. This happened between 5 and 5:30 PM on December 7. Talk about bad luck for them!
He grabbed some seriously pricey stuff, including £150,000 worth of Hermes handbags and a hefty stash of bespoke jewellery. What a haul!
Police say the suspect is a white guy in his late 20s to 30s, medium build, wearing a dark hoodie and cargo pants. He even had a grey baseball cap on to hide his face.
This all went down on a street where a semi-detached house sold for a whopping £26 million last year. Crazy, right?
The Metropolitan Police have shared images of some unique pieces that were stolen, like a stunning 10.73-carat Graff diamond ring and two De Beers butterfly diamond rings. Fancy!
Other items included a 3.03-carat Hermes ring, an aquamarine ring, and a beautiful necklace by the same designer. It’s like a treasure chest!
They also took a Van Cleef & Arpels clip with gold, diamonds, and sapphires, plus a ‘Fleur des Mers’ ring. The list goes on!
Detective Constable Paulo Roberts from the Met’s Central North Basic Command Unit said this was a brazen act. The burglar violated the victims’ home and stole items that are not just valuable but also sentimental.
He urged anyone who was around Avenue Road, NW8, to come forward if they saw anything suspicious. If you’ve seen any of this jewellery or someone trying to sell it, let the police know!
