A tragic discovery in Vietnam as a British woman and her fiancé are found dead in their villa, raising concerns and questions.
Hoi An: It’s such a sad story. A British woman and her fiancé were found dead in their holiday villa in Vietnam. Greta Marie Otteson, 33, and her partner Arno Quinton Els, 36, were discovered in separate rooms on December 26.
The Foreign Office is in touch with local authorities and is helping Greta’s family. They confirmed that there were no signs of trauma on the couple’s bodies, which is really puzzling.
Local police found some empty alcohol bottles at the scene, which they’re looking into. The couple had been staying at the villa since July 2024, planning to make it their home for a while.
Greta was a social media and brand marketing expert, running her own company called Not Sorry Social. She had worked in places like Los Angeles and Paris before heading to Vietnam with Arno.
Arno was a talented barista and musician, and he even dabbled in stand-up comedy. Just a couple of weeks before their tragic end, they shared an engagement announcement video that surprised their friends and family.
It’s heartbreaking to think about. Just last month, there was another incident in Laos where several people died from suspected methanol poisoning. It’s a tough time for everyone involved.
