A man has been jailed for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in a park, leaving her in pain and distress after a brutal attack
Stoke-On-Trent: A shocking incident unfolded when Jake Hammersley, 32, attacked his pregnant girlfriend in a park. He lured her there and then turned violent.
It all started when he took her car using a spare key. At first, he seemed nice, but then he flipped and started hurling insults. His friend tried to intervene, but Hammersley just dragged her into the car.
During the attack, he punched her in the stomach, leaving her in pain. She was 13 weeks pregnant at the time. Thankfully, she managed to escape and called for help.
Hammersley has a long history of violence, with 35 previous convictions. He pleaded guilty to assault and breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order. His lawyer mentioned his struggles with alcohol and mental health, but the judge was firm.
The judge called him a “violent, controlling bully” and emphasized the seriousness of his actions, especially against a pregnant woman. Hammersley was sentenced to jail, and the judge made it clear that such behavior would not be tolerated.
