Madison: A 20-year-old guy got picked up by the cops in Carlsbad, California, because of a school shooting that happened in Madison, Wisconsin. It’s a pretty serious situation.

So, this dude, Alexander Paffendorf, was texting a 15-year-old girl named Natalie Rupnow right around the time she went on a shooting spree at her school. Sadly, she ended up killing a student and a teacher.

It gets crazier. Paffendorf was apparently trying to plan an attack on a government building in San Diego while all this was going down. They haven’t said which building yet, though.

During an interview with the FBI, he admitted to telling Rupnow that he was going to arm himself with explosives and a gun to target that building. That’s just wild!

He was taken into custody after a judge approved a restraining order against him. Neighbors were shocked when about 12 police cars showed up at his place.

One neighbor, Alex Gallegos, said it was intense, with cops all over the street and their guns drawn. It’s a lot to take in, for sure.
