CalMac is optimistic that the Glen Sannox ferry will start operations on January 13, despite a few minor issues to resolve
Troon: So, here’s the scoop. CalMac is feeling pretty good about getting the Glen Sannox ferry up and running by January 13. They’ve got a few small things to sort out, but nothing too crazy.
A spokesperson mentioned that the ferry has been doing well since it was handed over in mid-November. They’re really pushing to hit that launch date.
They’ve got some minor issues to tackle, and they’re hoping to get those sorted out in the next week. Some of these problems need help from third parties, but those folks just got back from the holidays on January 6.
Most of the issues popped up between the handover and the festive break, but they’re not critical for the ferry to operate.
The Glen Sannox is set to sail from Troon to Brodick, carrying 852 passengers and 127 cars.
This news comes as the older MV Caledonian Isles, which has been out for repairs for a year, won’t be back until the end of March.
So, Arran will have two ferries serving Brodick: the Glen Sannox from Troon and the Caledonian Isles from Ardrossan, starting March 28.
