A man from Canvey has been arrested after rat poison was found in Kismet Park, raising concerns for local pet safety and community well-being
Canvey: Last year, there were reports of food laced with rat poison being left in Kismet Park. Sadly, several dogs ate this tainted food and became seriously ill.
Recently, a 73-year-old man from Canvey was arrested. He’s facing questions about damaging property with the intent to endanger lives.
He’s out on bail now, but there are strict conditions while the investigation rolls on.
Chief Inspector Paul Hogben, who leads the Castle Point district, emphasized how important dogs are to families. He mentioned that this kind of behavior can really hurt the community.
He also pointed out that the police have been working closely with local partners to get to this point. Public help has been crucial in gathering information.
Hogben thanked everyone who has been vigilant in the park and shared tips and evidence. It’s clear that the connection between the public and police is vital.
Police are still asking anyone with information or footage that could help the investigation to reach out.
