Okay, listen to this. People must leave a caravan park called 91 Mount Pleasant. Regency Living owns this caravan site.

About 60 people live there, including older people and kids. The site has 67 caravans, and the company says it’s closing the park because it fails to meet residential standards. Big investments are needed to fix things, and residents feel devastated by the eviction.

Anthony and Claire Cameron have lived there for 25 years, moving in back in 2000. It’s now their beloved family home, but Anthony, a self-employed landscaper, can’t afford to move somewhere else, earning only a modest salary. Claire is unemployed and feels increasingly depressed, with the eviction worsening her well-being.

The site belonged to Matthew James earlier, and then Royale Parks Christchurch Ltd bought it, although Royale Park failed with huge debts. Regency Living then bought all the Royale sites. People complain about the site lately, citing issues like showers that don’t work, lack of hot water, and trash piling up everywhere.

Florence Stoica made her caravan a cozy home, building much of it herself and spending time with her dog, Bella. She feels extremely stressed about leaving and fears she might lose her home, believing park owners don’t manage things well; she currently heats water to shower and uses a wash bowl.

Steve Swan moved there a year ago and fears finding a new place to live, seeing the people there as his family. He upgraded his caravan a lot, spending savings to improve his life there after not doing well before moving in, stating that the park changed his life quickly and lifted him up.

Lorena Stoica has lived there eight years, and the eviction impacts her health a lot. She said she cannot eat or sleep, feeling immense stress right now.

Regency Living said it’s only a touring field intended for holiday use, and they plan to fix the park to ensure safety and meet rules. Furthermore, Regency Living works with the council to help those affected, assisting with moving arrangements and new lodging.
