Chaddesley: On Monday morning, the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service had to rush out to Bromsgrove Road in lower Chaddesley, near Kidderminster. It was around 5:08 AM when they got the call about a vehicle stuck in water.

A spokesperson from the fire brigade mentioned that everyone involved was safe, but two cars were left behind in the flood. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and no other emergency services were needed.

On their Facebook page, Wyre Forest Fire Station shared that they were shocked to see drivers still trying to get through while they were closing the road to handle the situation. They really want to stress how dangerous it is to drive or walk into floodwaters.

Floodwater can be tricky and fast-moving, hiding dangers like lifted manholes that could lead to serious accidents. The fire service pointed out that not only are drivers putting themselves at risk, but they also endanger the lives of rescuers who might have to come to their aid.

They offered some advice for anyone driving during flood warnings. Ignoring those signs can put your car and your safety in jeopardy. It’s hard to tell how deep the water is or what hazards might be lurking beneath the surface.
