Chester-le-Street: Police got a call about an assault on Front Street just after 11:55 AM on December 30. A man was punched in the face by someone on a motorcycle.

The 57-year-old victim ended up with a cut on his eye and a busted nose. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the attack but has been released on bail while the investigation continues.

The suspect took off after the incident, which happened near Betfred. He’s described as having bleach blonde hair and wearing a khaki green puffer jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, and black Nike trainers.

Police are asking anyone who saw the incident or the motorcycle before or after to come forward.
