Bexley:

In southeast London, local councils are making it super easy to recycle your Christmas tree. It’s a great way to help the environment and keep things green.

So, if you’re in Bromley, Bexley, Lewisham, or Greenwich, here’s what you need to know.

In Bromley, you can drop off your tree for free at special recycling sites this January. Just make sure to take off all the decorations first.

They’ve got a few drop-off days lined up, like January 11 and 12, at places like Norman Park and Charles Darwin School. Plus, you can recycle trees year-round at certain centers.

Over in Bexley, the garden waste service is back, so you can recycle your tree there. Just cut it in half and leave it next to your bin if you’re subscribed.

If not, you can take it to the Thames Road or Maidstone Road recycling centers. They’re open most days, except for a few holidays.

Now, in Lewisham, they’re turning Christmas trees into wood chippings for parks. You can drop yours off at various spots until the end of January, and it won’t cost you a thing.

They’ve got a bunch of locations, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding one nearby.

Finally, in Greenwich, if you use the green top bin service, just leave your tree next to the bin starting January 6. Don’t forget to remove all the decorations!

You can also take it to the Nathan Way Recycling Centre, but make sure you have proof of address.
