Christopher Cooper has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Kelvin Evans, who died after a single punch outside a pub.
The judge, Geraint Walters, said Cooper felt slighted when he saw Evans and his partner share a look during the karaoke. It really got under his skin. Cooper followed Evans outside and hit him from behind, knocking him out cold. Sadly, Evans ended up in the hospital and passed away a month later.
Cooper was found guilty of murder and got a life sentence, with a minimum of 16 years. His partner, Catherine Francis, was also in trouble for helping him out and got two years. The judge called Cooper’s actions cowardly and noted how he even bragged about the punch during the trial, which is just chilling.
Evans was remembered as a kind and loving guy by his family. His mother, Maureen, shared how heartbroken she is, looking at his picture every day. Losing him like this has been devastating for everyone who knew him.
