The Clements Hall pool in Hawkwell is closed for repairs, affecting local swimmers and upcoming competitions
Hawkwell: So, the pool at Clements Hall is shut down for a bit. They’re fixing a broken fan, and it won’t be back open until the end of the month.
This closure is a real bummer for swimmers. It’s messing up lessons and training for those gearing up for the Essex Swimming championships happening soon.
Julie Gooding, a local councillor, has heard from families who are worried. With the championships at the London Aquatics Centre coming up, it’s a tough time for those who’ve worked hard to qualify.
She’s not happy about the situation, especially since these athletes rely on the pool for their training. A spokesperson from Fusion Lifestyle, which runs the centre, said they’re on it and have ordered the parts needed for repairs.
They expect to have everything sorted by the end of January. In the meantime, Fusion members can use other locations without any extra fees.
Also, there’s a change coming for Clements Hall. Fusion Lifestyle will hand over management to Everyone Active soon, which will take care of the leisure facilities for the next 15 years.
Julie is optimistic about the future, hoping the new management will bring some good changes for the community.
