Worcestershire County Council announces 16 road closures, including College Street for Christmas tree removal
Worcester: So, it looks like College Street is going to be closed for a bit. Worcestershire County Council has announced that it’s one of 16 roads shutting down over the next couple of weeks.
They’ve got a list of ten new closures coming up, and it’s all happening in the next 14 days. It’s a bit of a mess, but they’re working on it.
Old Road has been closed for ages—over 10 months! They’re still doing improvements there, and it won’t reopen until late July. Reservoir Lane is also off-limits until June for some roadworks.
And don’t forget about Nunnery Way to A4538 Pershore Lane; that’s closed until April for a new junction. Old Malvern Road is getting some pipe replacements, so it’ll be closed until just before midnight on January 24.
Cadent is also closing The Orchard until January 17 for their work. Wordsworth Avenue and Longfellow Road will be shut until January 14 for more roadworks.
Now, about College Street—it’s going to be closed on Monday, January 13, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. They’re removing the Christmas tree, so if you’re in the area, plan accordingly!
Westmount Close will be closed from January 20 to January 31 for roadworks, and Watery Lane will be shut from January 13 to January 22, but they’ll keep emergency access open.
New Street and Charles Street will also be closed on January 19 for Severn Trent’s roadworks. They’ve got a busy schedule, with more work on Vincent Road and Sansome Place coming up too.
Lastly, Rodborough Drive will be closed for a couple of days for some excavation work. It’s all to install a crossing, so they’re keeping busy!
