Waltham Forest: The playground is getting a makeover! The council is investing £250,000 to refurbish the Lloyd Park playground. It’s set to close next Monday, January 13, and will stay shut until the end of March.

The aim is to make the playground more fun and accessible for everyone. They want to keep it suitable for kids aged 0-12, while also adding features for girls and teens. The new design will keep the existing layout, including the sand pit and paths, so it’ll still feel familiar.

While the playground is closed, families can check out other nearby spots like Greenleaf Road and Stoneydown Park. Last year, the council even held sessions with families to gather ideas for the new playground.

Interestingly, the council has over £19 million in unspent funds that need to be used in the next five years. Some of that cash is going towards station upgrades and other local improvements.

It’s great to see the community getting involved in these changes. Let’s hope the new playground brings lots of joy to the kids!
