Councillor McGrath responds to concerns over traffic issues on Milford Mill Road
Milford: So, there’s been a bit of a stir about traffic on Milford Mill Road. Councillor Charles McGrath is stepping up to address the worries from the Milford Area Preservation Group (MAPG). They’re feeling pretty let down about the lack of support for their campaign to tackle the traffic mess.
MAPG has been trying to get the attention of Wiltshire Highways and the local councils to do something about the traffic situation. They want to see some real changes to help ease the congestion that’s been bothering everyone.
At a recent meeting, it was agreed that MAPG’s ideas would be discussed further. They’re even planning to survey local residents to find out what solutions people would prefer. Sounds like a good plan, right?
But here’s the kicker: not many councillors showed up to the meeting. Only two from the Salisbury Area Board were there, which left MAPG feeling pretty disappointed. They were hoping for more support.
Cllr McGrath expressed his frustration too. He’s been working hard to find ways to reduce the traffic, especially since many drivers are avoiding the busy Southampton Road. He’s calling on everyone involved to pay more attention to the issues in Milford.
It’s clear that there are a lot of competing priorities in the area, but McGrath believes it’s time to focus on Milford’s traffic problems. He wants to see some action instead of just excuses.
Meanwhile, Cllr Nick Holder from Wiltshire Council mentioned that they did set up a meeting to discuss the traffic concerns. Unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, not everyone could make it. They’re planning to conduct a traffic survey to get a better understanding of the situation.
It looks like there’s still a long way to go, but at least the conversation is happening. Let’s hope they can come up with some solid solutions soon!
