The council’s rent survey for tenants wraps up this weekend, urging feedback on proposed rent increases for 2025
North Ayrshire: The council is wrapping up its rent consultation this Sunday, January 12. This survey is super important because it’ll help set the rent for April 2025.
Councillor Alan Hill, who’s in charge of communities and islands, mentioned that any rent increase impacts the funds available for managing and improving housing.
He also pointed out that while they want to enhance tenants’ homes, they understand that rising living costs are a big concern for everyone.
Hill emphasized that tenant feedback is crucial, and he encourages everyone to share their thoughts before any decisions are made.
There are two options on the table for rent increases. The first one suggests an average rise of 3.84% to keep current investment levels steady.
The second option proposes a 4.84% increase, which would allow for more funding to boost the council’s housing stock.
All the feedback from this consultation will be considered by the elected members before they make a decision early next year.
If you want to share your opinion, you can still take part in the survey online at https://northayrshire.community/consultation. It’s a quick survey!
