Residents of County Durham are invited to participate in a transport plan consultation
County Durham: The proposed transport plan is all about creating a greener, more connected transport system for the North East by 2040. It’s led by North East Mayor Kim McGuinness.
The public consultation is open until January 26, and they’ve already received over 10,000 responses. That’s pretty impressive!
If you haven’t shared your thoughts yet, there’s still time. You can fill out the online survey or join one of the in-person events happening soon.
Ms. McGuinness is really keen on getting everyone involved. She’s thrilled with the response so far and wants to hear from even more residents.
She mentioned how crucial our transport network is for everyone, whether you drive, walk, cycle, or take the bus. It’s a great chance to voice what you’d like to see in the draft plan.
Her aim is to make travel in the North East safer, more reliable, and accessible for everyone. She wants sustainable travel to be the go-to choice for locals and businesses alike.
There are several in-person and online events lined up throughout January. If you’re in Durham, you can drop by places like Peterlee Library or Barnard Castle Library to share your thoughts.
Don’t forget, there’s also an online event on January 16, so you can join from the comfort of your home.
