A father in Cullybackey is speaking out after a brick was thrown through his car window, narrowly missing his toddler’s seat
Cullybackey: So, Andrew Ross was driving down Main Street when a brick came flying through his back window. It was thrown from a nearby building site, and it shattered everywhere.
Luckily, his two-year-old son wasn’t in the car, but Andrew couldn’t shake the thought of what could have happened. It really shook him up.
He shared that he was just cruising along when he noticed some bricks on the road. Then, out of nowhere, one hit his car.
At first, he thought he’d hit something. But when he pulled over and saw the mess in the back seat, he felt a rush of anger and fear. “What if my son had been there?” he kept thinking.
After the shock wore off, he called his wife, who rushed over to check for CCTV footage at the Eurospar nearby. While she was inside, Andrew spotted some kids trying to escape the building site.
He confronted them, but they took off. He described how they scrambled over the wall and ran away. It was a wild scene.
They reported everything to the police, who checked the footage and saw the kids entering the site. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it could have been a lot worse.
The police are now looking into the incident, and they’re asking anyone with information to come forward. It’s a scary reminder of how quickly things can go wrong.
