Urfan Sharif was ambushed in prison, suffering non-life-threatening injuries after an attack by fellow inmates
South London: So, you won’t believe what just happened. Urfan Sharif, the dad of Sara Sharif, got attacked in prison. Can you imagine? Two inmates slashed his throat with a tuna can lid. Ouch!
This all went down at HMP Belmarsh on January 1. It’s wild to think this happened just weeks after he was sentenced to life for murdering his own daughter. He’s got a minimum of 40 years to serve before he can even think about parole.
Luckily, his injuries weren’t life-threatening. A source mentioned he was pretty lucky to survive and had to get stitches. He’ll have scars to remind him of this brutal encounter.
Urfan isn’t alone in there. He’s sharing a cell with his wife, Beinash Batool, and his brother-in-law, Faisal Malik. They all got hefty sentences for their roles in Sara’s tragic death.
Speaking of Sara, her body was found in her bunk bed last August. The poor girl had suffered so much. It’s heartbreaking to hear she had 25 fractures and 71 injuries, including bite marks and burns.
After the sentencing, Sara’s mom, Olga, was understandably furious. She said they should all “die in prison.” It’s tough to wrap your head around how someone could do that to their own child.
Urfan’s past is pretty dark. He was awarded custody of Sara despite previous abuse allegations. The prosecution painted a picture of a violent home where abuse was just a part of life.
When police found Sara, it was after a frantic call from Urfan, who was sobbing and claiming he “legally punished” her. It’s just so tragic.
As for the prison attack, the authorities are looking into it. They said it wouldn’t be right to comment while the investigation is ongoing. Just another twist in this already horrific story.
