A Dalry man has been sentenced for assaulting a woman at Glasgow Central station, causing distress to her and her child during the incident
Glasgow: So, this guy Kamal Khan, right? He got into some serious trouble after a nasty incident at Glasgow Central station last October. He was in court recently and pleaded guilty to a couple of charges.
Basically, he attacked a woman, grabbing her by the neck and throwing something at her. Not cool, right? This all went down in front of her kid, which makes it even worse.
They were in Glasgow for the day, and things got heated. Khan was shouting at her and acting all aggressive. A witness even heard them arguing, but it was hard to tell who was saying what.
The woman was really scared of him, especially when they got back to Largs. She locked herself in the bathroom to keep her child safe, but Khan kicked the door down to get in. Talk about a nightmare!
When the police finally showed up, he was nowhere to be found. They later arrested him, and he had been in custody for over 50 days by the time he was sentenced.
His lawyer said it all started because of some cheating allegations, which made things really tense between them. Khan admitted he messed up and was willing to do community service or a curfew to make things right.
The sheriff, Morag Fraser, was pretty firm about it. She said this was serious, especially with a child involved. In the end, Khan got a community payback order, which means he’ll be supervised for two years and has to do some behavior program for men who’ve been abusive.
He also has to complete 180 hours of unpaid work in the next year. Hopefully, this helps him turn things around.
