Lee Jae Seung, the deputy director of the Corruption Investigation Office, mentioned they plan to request an extension from the court today. It’s a bit of a race against the clock.
But here’s the kicker: the police haven’t agreed to help out just yet. Yoon’s been pretty resistant to their efforts, and he’s holed up in the presidential palace, making it tough for investigators to do their job.
Last Friday, there was a six-hour standoff because his security team wouldn’t let the investigators in. It’s a real mess.
The warrant was issued back in December after Yoon didn’t show up for questioning about his brief declaration of martial law. That whole situation was a bit chaotic, with parliament quickly overturning his decision.
