Hey, I have some local news. Councillors discussed Posties Park at a meeting. The sports hub was supposed to open in 2019. Its budget was £1.7 million back then.

The project’s cost rose by at least £500,000. The council spends £20,000 monthly on upkeep. This covers security and site setup for the idle park. It is quite a sum, right?

The park will have cool features. Expect a gym, changing rooms, and a running track there. Parking spaces are also part of the plan. A review of the project’s spending will happen.

A manager said drainage work went well. Tests passed between January 9 and 15. Now, they are fixing the exposed areas. Building standards will check the work soon.

They hope for a check this Friday or next week. The Leisure Trust wants it open soon. They aim for the week of March 3 or 10. This depends on moving gym equipment though.

The running track might open before the building. People can book it online. Club Spark is the booking system’s name. It lets users register and book sessions.

Councillors are glad about the update. They have waited for months. One said they’ve seen real progress since last January. He thanked the team too.
