Samuel Harris and his friend Aziz Ziriat were last in touch on New Year’s Day. Sadly, Samuel’s body was found buried in the snow last Wednesday. His friend Spencer Jones shared how heartbroken he is, saying he can’t find the words to express his feelings.

Samuel, 35, and Aziz, 36, went missing on January 6 when they didn’t check in for their flight home. They were last heard from on January 1. The search for Aziz is still ongoing, and over 100 rescuers are involved.

Spencer, who’s known Samuel for 23 years, described him as an incredible friend and a knowledgeable mountaineer. He’s focusing on remembering the good times they shared.

The rescue teams are working hard, searching a large area with the help of dogs. They’ve tracked the mountaineers’ phones to where their backpacks were found. Unfortunately, they found Aziz’s phone cover and card, but the search was paused as it got dark.

Aziz’s family expressed their devastation over the situation and thanked the rescue teams for their efforts. They’re holding onto hope that Aziz will be found soon.
