London: A driver named Anthony Gilheaney has been in court after a serious incident on Christmas Day. He’s accused of hitting four men in the West End, which sadly led to one death.

It all went down around 1am when Gilheaney, who was reportedly disqualified from driving, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes. He allegedly sped through Shaftesbury Avenue, driving recklessly and even leaning out of the car towards a couple with a baby.

Things got worse when he was arrested later that day and found with a small knife. One of the injured, Aidan Chapman, tragically passed away in the hospital on New Year’s Eve.

Initially, Gilheaney faced multiple charges, but now he’s looking at a murder charge following Aidan’s death. He appeared via video link from prison for a preliminary hearing, where the judge set important dates for the case.

Gilheaney only confirmed his identity in court and was sent back into custody. Aidan’s parents expressed their heartbreak, saying losing their son was “a parent’s worst nightmare.” They described him as a loving and funny person, leaving a huge void in their lives.
