Families in Droitwich Westlands received festive support through community grants, spreading joy this Christmas season
These donations are part of a yearly kindness campaign that helps out 117 different charities, food banks, and events in the area.
Last year, they donated a whopping £82,135!
This money went towards providing Christmas meals for those in need, hosting a festive party for families, and even setting up a Santa’s grotto.
The Westlands Community Centre is the hub for these activities, offering services like a community fridge and café.
Funded by The National Lottery, they also organize events, provide support, and create volunteering opportunities.
Nikki Beeston, the project manager at Droitwich Spa CVS, expressed her gratitude, saying how heartwarming it was to bring festive cheer to those who need it most.
Chris Colley, from Platform, shared how proud they are to support such meaningful projects, highlighting the positive impact on the community.
Tracy Duncan, from Action for Children, mentioned how the Santa’s grotto really brings everyone together and creates a sense of belonging for families.
She also thanked Platform for their generous support.
