A man has been sentenced to over two years in prison after DNA evidence connected him to a stash of drugs found in his vehicle
Cambridge: So, there’s this guy named Baralbo Bregu who just got sentenced for dealing drugs. He’s looking at over two years behind bars because his DNA was found on some cocaine.
It all went down on December 18, 2023. The police were cruising around when they noticed Bregu driving a red Mazda all sketchy-like on Campkin Road. They decided to check it out.
Turns out, the car was insured to two different people at two different addresses. That raised some red flags. When the cops tried to pull him over, he just kept going until he hit a dead end on Somerset Close.
Once they caught up with him, they found bags of cocaine in the glove box and a mobile phone. Bregu claimed he borrowed the car and had no clue about the drugs, but his DNA told a different story.
He’s from New Addington in Croydon, Surrey, and today at Cambridge Crown Court, he got slapped with a sentence of two years and seven months. He had already pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and having criminal property.
PC Jodie Skells made it clear that they’re not going to let people like Bregu mess with their community. She said drugs bring a lot of trouble and violence, and they won’t stand for it.
If you think there’s drug dealing happening in your area, don’t hesitate to report it to the police online. They’re on it!
