Ormskirk: This week in Lancashire’s courts was quite the rollercoaster. Lots of folks found themselves facing serious charges, from murder to shoplifting. Some are still waiting for their day in court, while others are starting their prison sentences.

One of the big cases was about a guy named Thomas Dures, who’s accused of murdering Matthew Daulby during a street fight. Dures, just 21, appeared via video link from prison after being arrested in Greece. He’s set to stand trial in July 2025.

Then there’s Aleric McKee, a notorious shoplifter from Accrington. He got 10 weeks in jail for stealing from shops and breaching his bail conditions. Seems like he just couldn’t stay out of trouble.

In a bizarre twist, a woman named Allicja Smith was jailed for making a false gun threat. She claimed a guy she dated pulled a gun on her, but it turned out to be a total fabrication. She’s now facing 14 months behind bars.

And let’s not forget about the heartbreaking case of a man who starved his dog to death. James Ashworth was banned from keeping animals for life after his dog, Hades, suffered terribly. It’s just awful to think about.

On a different note, a teenager named Kian Holt got banned from football matches for chanting offensive slurs during a Liverpool game. Not cool, Kian!

In a shocking home invasion, a couple in Ramsbottom were attacked by masked men with baseball bats. They were left shaken after the robbers stole valuables from their home. One of the attackers, Anthony Corkovic, was caught thanks to some blood left at the scene.

Lastly, Przemyslaw Tasak, who couldn’t stay away from his ex, got 16 months in jail for breaching a restraining order. He just didn’t get the hint that it was over.

And there’s also a story about a serviceman and a Bacup man who got jailed for their roles in a drug conspiracy. They were moving serious amounts of drugs around the country. It’s a wild week in the courts, that’s for sure!
