A shocking incident captured a drunk driver swerving dangerously before crashing, leading to a suspended sentence and community service.
Chatham: A wild scene unfolded when a drunk driver was caught on camera swerving all over the M25. This guy, Walerij Mirosznikow, had a 10-minute joyride that ended with him crashing into a roundabout.
Dashcam footage showed him driving like a maniac, zigzagging through traffic before he finally got pulled over. Thankfully, no one got hurt, which the judge called a miracle.
At Maidstone Crown Court, it came out that Mirosznikow, a 53-year-old Russian living in Kent, was only holding a provisional license. He was all over the place in his Toyota Yaris, first on the M25 and then on the A25 near Sevenoaks.
He even stopped in the middle of the road, did a five-point turn, and faced the wrong way, forcing other drivers to slam on their brakes. One driver even jumped out to yell at him to stop!
When the police finally caught up with him, he looked shocked and drunk, with a breath-alcohol reading nearly four times the legal limit. He admitted to dangerous driving and drink-driving, but the judge decided to spare him jail time.
His lawyer argued that this was a one-off incident, saying he was going through a tough time after a marriage breakdown. Mirosznikow hasn’t touched a drop since that day, which the judge noted as a positive sign.
In the end, he got a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, plus 200 hours of community service. He also received a one-year driving ban and has to pay some court costs. Let’s hope he learned his lesson!
