A Dunfermline cafe owner was racially abused by a teenager in a distressing encounter
Dunfermline: So, there was this incident at a cafe called Plaza Real. A teenager walked in and made a real mess of things on December 29. He went behind the counter and started throwing around some nasty racial comments at the owner, Jiordia Real.
Jiordia mentioned that it all happened so fast. She thought he might be after something dangerous, like the knives in the kitchen. It’s wild how quickly things can escalate, right?
After she kicked him out, she was left in shock, wondering what just happened. The police are on it, looking into the whole situation. They’ve got CCTV footage and are trying to track the kid down.
Police Scotland confirmed they’re treating this as a hate crime, which is just awful. They received the report around 2:30 PM that day and are doing their best to investigate.
Since Jiordia shared her experience online, she’s been flooded with support from the community. She didn’t expect such a response and just wanted to let her customers know that this isn’t what they should have to deal with.
