A Dungannon couple celebrates their surprise Christmas Eve engagement, marking a new chapter in their love story
Dungannon: A young couple is starting the new year on a high note after a surprise engagement on Christmas Eve. Orlagh O’Hagan, 31, and Matthew Rodgers, 33, are excited to continue their love story together.
They met through a group called incredABLE, which helps people with learning disabilities and autism connect. Orlagh shared that they first crossed paths on a camping trip organized by the group. She thought Matthew was kind and caring right from the start.
After some fun chats, they finally had their first official date at a disco. Since then, they’ve been inseparable, according to their friends. Matthew decided to pop the question during a romantic walk in Dungannon Park on Christmas Eve.
He got down on one knee by a beautiful waterfall and asked Orlagh to marry him. She was completely taken by surprise and felt nervous but overjoyed when she said yes. Their friends and family are thrilled for the couple.
Orlagh mentioned they want to enjoy a long engagement and dream of a lovely home wedding, with her in white and her bridesmaids in pink. Sounds like a beautiful plan!
