Hey, listen to this. Two dogs died in separate fires. These fires involved an e-bike and an e-scooter.

One fire happened in West Hampstead. An e-scooter caught fire while charging, around 10:30 am on Monday. The fire spread quickly, and many firefighters arrived. Sadly, a dog died.

Another fire occurred in Feltham. It started around 2:35 am on Tuesday when a converted e-bike’s battery caught fire. Four people escaped the house, with two going to the hospital later. Firefighters saved two dogs, but sadly, one dog died.

Both homes suffered extreme damage in the fires, and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded to both incidents.

Last year, LFB reported many e-bike and e-scooter fires. They recorded 142 e-bike fires and 29 e-scooter fires. Since 2023, three people have died in London from battery fires, and more than 100 people have suffered injuries.

Richard Field, from LFB, spoke about the fires, mentioning the extensive damage they caused. He said battery failures caused both fires and noted the importance of battery safety.

Field also said many fires involve used or modified vehicles. He warned against deals that are too good to be true, stating that saving money isn’t worth the fire risk.
