Northamptonshire: So, it turns out that detectives are looking into some pretty serious claims involving Earl Spencer. They’ve just talked to a second person who says they were also a victim of abuse at his old boarding school.

Spencer, who is the brother of Princess Diana, has shared that he was molested by a female staff member back in the 1970s at Maidwell preparatory school. He described her as a “voracious paedophile” in his memoir, saying she groomed him and other boys.

He recalled how the abuse happened when he was moved to a new dorm. This staff member, who the boys called “Please,” would sneak in after lights out with snacks. But one night, things took a dark turn when she kissed him and then molested him.

Spencer mentioned that he wasn’t the only one; she would pick a different boy each term to abuse. He also talked about other disturbing things, like how the headmaster would spank boys and another teacher took them for naked swimming lessons.

It’s heartbreaking to hear that he felt so traumatized that he even thought about taking his own life. The police are now on the case, having launched an investigation into these allegations. They even arrested a woman from the Midlands back in June.

Recently, they confirmed they’ve spoken to another former pupil about what happened. A police spokesperson said they’re looking into reports from two people regarding these alleged offenses.

When Spencer’s claims first came out, the school said they’d reported it to the local authority and encouraged any other former students with similar experiences to come forward.

Spencer attended Maidwell from ages eight to thirteen, and the police are urging anyone who might have been a victim of abuse to reach out, reminding them that they have the right to lifelong anonymity.
